What is CBT?

CBT is a talking therapy which concentrates on how our thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical sensations influence one another and the impact this may have.  CBT also looks at how you view yourself as a person, the world as a whole and others around you.
CBT can help you change the way you think (cognitive) as well as what you do (behavioural) in order to help you find a more helpful outlook to your difficulties.

Therapy Sessions:

The first appointment will be an assessment session (around 1hour) where we will collaboratively work together to discover your main difficulties and how therapy can benefit you. This will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions, discuss any concerns and ultimately decide whether therapy is right for you.

CBT works using a collaborative approach where a therapeutic relationship is developed. Each session has a set agenda which is developed by both client and therapist and lasts for around 50 minutes. As far as possible, sessions are on a weekly basis. My aim is to work alongside you, and offer a flexible approach for your contact.

Therapy sessions can be arranged for face to face appointments or online.
From my experience, online working is as effective as working face to face- I am happy to trial both to ascertain which method suits your needs best.

please note: I only provide therapy to those age 18 and over.
